Darren has been an executive producer and curator of the Fringe Encore Series for the past 13 years. The series showcases the top 20 shows of the over 3000 shows from various Fringe Festivals around the world. Often many of the top shows end when the festivals end. Darren wanted to change that and give these excellent shows a future life. To that end, the Series presents these shows to the New York audience. Many of them have gone on to Off-Broadway and international success.

Darren Lee Cole is the Artistic Director of Teatro Jaco, a theatre in Playa Jaco, Costa Rica. When Darren first found the inspiration to open a theatre on Costa Rica's central pacific coast, the reaction was confusion. Why Jaco? Because it was desperately needed. Teatro Jaco has now been in existence for over 10 years, and has featured over 50 shows. Bringing Darren's unique style of Off-Broadway theatre to this locale (SoHo Playhouse South), has changed the social and economic dynamic of the entire community.

Darren Lee Cole (acclaimed producing artistic director of SoHo Playhouse) interviews an artist after their show every single week. He wants to bring one of the true pleasures of attending theatre, the conversation after the show, to everyone. He will be interviewing performers, producers, singers, and a lot of other folks who spend their lives making theatre. You are going to hear about the artistic visions, how they are developed, what the challenges are in getting produced, how ultimately the deals are made, and the stories behind the art and the artist.
